Our partners for this activity will be happy to guide you on a journey of one, two, or even three hours or more. Snowmobile outings are suitable for all desires; whether it be walks with family or challenges with friends, you will find what you are looking for in the magical landscapes of Lapland. Presentation of a valid driving license is mandatory. You will also be required to provide an international credit card in order to establish a deposit. 800 euros can be taken from you in the event of a responsible claim.

Their gentleness can be surprising, as they almost never bark... except when they sense the start of the race is imminent! This ancestral custom consists of drilling a hole in the ice of a frozen lake, as soon as it is thick and solid enough, and fishing there using a small 30 cm fishing rod. The wait for the miracle fish is sometimes accompanied, to warm up, with a few beers or swigs of Koskenkorva (Finnish brandy). But it is also an opportunity to enjoy a hot snack prepared over a wood fire, all in an atmosphere that is as magical as it is friendly. Winter is a good season for fishing. Smaller lakes normally freeze in late November and larger ones in December. The hole fishing season lasts 4 to 5 months and ends around April. The main catches are perch, pike, pikeperch, roach, lavaret and sometimes salmon. It is a friendly and relaxing activity, which will delight you on the sunny days which mark the end of winter.

For alpine ski enthusiasts, four ski resorts are accessible within a 40 km radius. They have 200km of lit trails with all the necessary infrastructure. Located on what we call “tunturi”. On a clear day, your gaze will span several tens of kilometers, giving you a breathtaking overview of the White Lappish Desert.

They say that a Finn knows how to ski before he can even walk. A national sport par excellence or a simple means of transportation, cross-country skiing is practiced everywhere: on frozen lakes or on lit trails, even in the countryside. Lappish legends see it as a “fire fox” or others think that this fire was at the origin of a gigantic fire which would have burned the summit of the bare mountains of Olos Tunturi. The Sami will tell you that you need to know how to respect the Northern Lights and that you have to be careful and silent when you are observed by an Northern Lights. Further from the Sami legends, Esa Turunen, physicist, has been observing and studying the Northern Lights for several decades. We know today that these changing draperies are of electromagnetic origin and the energy they deploy would correspond to that of 1,000 nuclear power plants! Leave with a guide, at night, in the heart of the forest or at the top of the hills, to hunt and try to fully enjoy the magical and incomparable spectacle of the Northern Lights. NB: The activity does not guarantee seeing the aurora, the luck factor is part of the adventure.

The Sami live in the very north of the Scandinavian peninsula. They are the only indigenous people of Europe and one of the smallest in terms of population. The religion of the Sami was essentially shamanism. The shaman, called noaidi (northern Sámi) or nåejtie (southern Sámi), intervened at different times and circumstances in the life of a community and acted as an intermediary between the community and the gods, spirits and ancestors . During the Shaman evening, seated by the fire, you will be carried away by the magical words of your host and will come into contact, through him, with the ancestral history of the last indigenous people of Europe. The Lapland Provincial Museum studies and presents Lappish nature and the cultural heritage it has shaped. The exhibition describes the lives of people in the difficult conditions imposed by these lands, crossed by the Arctic Circle, by combining photos, sounds, objects and animations. There are archaeological finds dating back thousands of years and illustrations describing how contemporary structural changes have affected the inhabitants of the Far North. The Lapland Provincial Museum's permanent exhibition, « Nordic Ways », continues to tell the story of the people and nature of the Far North that began with the award-winning exhibition: « The Resourceful People ». In particular, it allows you to discover the life of the elk and the bear in nature, as well as the mythology associated with these large Nordic animals. The exhibit also provides insight into urban birds and pearl fishing.

'Sepäntalo' ('Blacksmith's House') represents the southern Lapland style. The house includes a common room, the “grandmother’s room”, the “daughter-in-law’s room” and a living room. You will cross the seven rapids (Class I-III) which go from the lake to Juuma.
