Are you planning to take a trip to Lapland and are you looking for an authentic stay, far from the tourist parks ? Then you are in the right place.

We have been offering trips to Finnish Lapland for over 15 years based on our accommodation for up to 10 people. This accommodation is a former Sámi school which we have converted and renovated into a gîte on a very large private property. We are close to the lakes, 10 minutes drive from the town of Kemijärvi.

The stays that we list below are not packaged offers but examples of stays that we have organized so that you can draw your own inspiration and prepare the stay that corresponds to your own desires.

This is the most classic holiday we organise with our travellers. It combines classic activities and also the pleasure of being in Lapland in a magical place to discover the landscapes, recharge your batteries and be welcomed by warm hosts who will make sure you enjoy the trip.

Day 1 - arrival, equipment and installation

You have booked a vehicle at Rovaniemi airport and we have also decided to complete the trip by meeting you at the airport with a 2nd vehicle. Drive about 1 hour depending on the weather to our lodge, the old Halosenranta school.

We make a stop in Kemijärvi to equip you for the cold weather.

The rest of the evening is spent settling in to the lodge, while we prepare a delicious gourmet dinner for you.

The children are delighted to discover their dormitory, an old gymnasium that we have specially fitted out.

We discuss together (guides in French and English) the activities organised for the week.

Day 2 - Sled dog activity

This 2nd day is devoted to a sled dog activity.

We go together to the location of this activity where you start by following the activities of preparing the dogs and their equipment and are trained to handle the sled.

Then we go on an excursion into the magnificent landscapes for a day of hiking with the sleds pulled by the dogs.

A stop is organized during the activity for a meal that we prepared and took with us.

Back at the lodge, everyone makes themselves comfortable and can take advantage of the sauna to warm up.

The evening ends together around a traditional Sami meal then everyone falls asleep with magnificent images in their minds.

Day 3 - Visit to Santa Claus Village

It’s a very touristy activity, but much awaited by children !

We drive to Santa's village for an enchanting day.

Santa Claus Village, located near Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, is a unique tourist destination, especially popular during the Christmas season. Here are some activities and experiences not to be missed on this magical site.

Meeting with Santa Claus, the Santa Claus museum and an exhibition on the Northern Lights, a reindeer sleigh ride, a snowmobile ride, lots of activities are offered on site.

You can also send a postcard to your loved ones from Santa Claus Post Office.

Have Lunch on site and return to the Halosenranta Lodge at the end of the afternoon with a gourmet dinner that we have prepared for you for Christmas Eve.

Day 4 - Hike around the lodge

After a good traditional Sami breakfast, armed with snowshoes, we explore the surrounding forest in magnificent snowy landscapes.

A snack break and we're off again with a magnificent path that borders the lake.

Return to the lodge in the afternoon with a snack and everyone rests until the common dinner.

Day 5 - Free activities

Everyone goes about their business after breakfast, the children play in the snow on the property and you go as a group to Kemijärvi for some shopping and a visit to this small town north of the Arctic Circle.

The day continues, everyone rests, enjoys the Sauna and ventures to the Avento, a swim in the icy water after the Sauna.

Day 6 - Snowmobile outing

After a good hearty breakfast, we take the car and go 45 minutes away to a partner who offers a snowmobile excursion.

Everyone takes their equipment and listens to the instructions, the little ones are in a cart pulled by one of the snowmobiles.

We explore the magnificent landscapes under a low sun and stop for lunch surrounded by nature.

In the evening, we offer you a gourmet dinner around salmon.

Day 7 - Farewell and return to the airport

Everyone prepares their things, repacks their suitcase and after a farewell breakfast, we take you back to the airport where you take your flight, full of wonderful memories.

Christmas is one of the most magical times to visit Lapland. The area is often considered the home of Santa Claus, and the festive atmosphere is palpable everywhere, with Christmas decorations, lights and celebrations.

Lapland is usually covered in a blanket of snow in December, offering magical winter landscapes, perfect for snow activities such as tobogganing, skiing, dog sledding or reindeer sledding.

Day 1 - arrival, equipment and installation

We welcome you on your flight at Rovaniemi airport, equip you for cold weather during a stopover in Kemijärvi and settle into the accommodation.

Then a nice dinner awaits you which we have prepared for you with mushroom soup.

Day 2 - Snowmobile activity

We take you to the location of the activity and your guide accompanies you during the snowmobile ride through magnificent snow-covered paths in the Lappish forests.

Gastronomic dinner together in the evening in the lodge.

Day 3 - Visit to Santa Claus Village

We go by car to the official Santa Claus village where many activities are offered for young and old.

We have organized a New Year's Eve meal for you at the lodge.

Day 4 - Christmas at the lodge - short snowshoe ride

Christmas Day at the lodge. Everyone discovers their gifts then you have a traditional Sámi lunch.

It's a relaxing day, with the sauna, games outside in the snow.

In the afternoon, a snowshoe hike is organized then return to the lodge with a snack and dinner together.

Day 5 - Sled dog ride

Day 6 - Return to Rovaniemi

Everyone prepares their things, repacks their suitcase and after a farewell breakfast, we take you back to the airport where you take your flight.

It was an unforgettable stay for everyone, but all good things must come to an end. You will have to come back.

Tour organized by 3 independent sporting couples. Rental of our accommodation independently, organization by themselves of their meals except 2 days when we organized gourmet meals on their request.

Day 1 - arrival, equipment and installation

Arrival at Rovaniemi airport late afternoon, get rental cars and drive to our lodge based on the information we have provided.

A stop to rent cold weather clothing reserved in advance, to avoid cluttering up your suitcases unnecessarily.

Day 2 - Alpine skiing

Meet the ski resort about an hour's drive from the accommodation. Equipment and skiing all day.

Return to the lodge to cocoon yourself in the sauna, obviously accompanied by Avento, a little frozen swim for the bravest.

Day 3 - Snowshoe hike

A local guide accompanies you on this snowshoe day in the magnificent landscapes of forests and lakes of Lapland.

Day 4 - Sled dog activity

Discovery of dog breeding, preparation, a little handling training and a long sled dog hike in the snow.

Day 5 - Cross-country skiing

Location on a cross-country skiing spot, equipment and a sporting day in the magical landscapes of Lapland on maintained trails.

Day 6 - Rest day and night to watch for the Northern Lights

The night will be clear, the solar conditions are interesting, everyone is resting and everyone is watching for the Northern Lights.

We have organized a gourmet evening meal for you with reindeer stew.

Day 7 - Snowmobile activity

A day organized for a snowmobile tour in the snowy regions of Lapland following your local guide.

Day 8 - End of stay, return to the airport

Return of equipment and back to the airport where you return the rental vehicles and take your flights, your head full of good memories of this winter sports stay in Lapland.

You are visiting Lapland and you have chosen to visit several places while roaming. A 4-day and 3-night stopover in our summer accommodation.

During this period, we rent rooms rather than our entire 300 m2 mansion with breakfast (optional).

An adventure in Oulanka Park by canoe which takes you along the water throughout the day to discover the sandy shores of a magnificent island, where you will relax for a picnic Have a picnic and enjoy a coffee by the campfire.

Imagine yourself immersed in the quiet splendor of Lapland in summer, where the midnight sun bathes the vast wilderness in uninterrupted golden light.

It's a land where time seems to stand still, offering ideal days to explore its lush forests, shimmering lakes and mystical tundras.
